Cascabel Mules
AFTERBURNER
Like most of the mules raised
at El Cascabel, Afterburner's dam (Jet Legs) has running bloodlines and
is a race winner. Jet Legs is a granddaughter of the immortal Jet
Deck, and she has produced several nice mule babies. Born in 1989,
Afterburner is black with silver (sometimes silver/tan) points, and shows
seasonal rabicano. Her sire was a red roan mammoth, Festus, and though
her
dam is only 14.2, Afterburner is a strapping 16.2 hands. She has
had a limited show career, having won at halter and in the green classes.
She has been used as a model for mule training articles. She has
earned ADMS' Versatility Hall of Fame Award and many Honor Roll Awards.
Here is "After" at one day of age. |
After is shown here at her first show in Cleveland, Texas where she not only won the yearling halter mule class, but also the Model Mule trophy (equivalent of Grand Champion Halter). She was 12 months in this photo and 15 hands!! This was her first Model Mule win of many more to come. |
